Bridgend Lifesavers Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial co-operative. We are committed to offering low-cost financial services to every member of our community.

Membership is based upon a common bond of members who live, work or volunteer in Bridgend County Borough or for those who work for the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg (ABM) University Health Board in South Wales.

We are fortunate to have a growing number of members who support our work but also the support of Welsh Government, the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) and Bridgend County Borough Council.

We currently have over 3,500 active members with over £1.8 million in member savings. We are run by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by members at the AGM [Click here to view AGM report for 2012 - 2013]. We employ 6 members of staff who are responsible for the on-going development and administration of the credit union. In addition, our staff support over 30 volunteers working across three offices and 13 community collection points.

Bridgend Lifesavers Credit Union is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority, is a member of the Financial Compensation Scheme and the Financial Ombudsman Service. In addition we are also a member of the Association of British Credit Unions (ABCUL)
