Student Savings

If you are over 16 and in full-time education you can apply for a savings account with us, allowing you to plan, save and manage your money independently.

While many student current accounts don’t pay interest, by opening a student savings account with Bridgend Lifesavers you will benefit from all of the services available on an adult savings account, including a dividend on any savings you have with us.

We understand how difficult it can be navigating your way through further education but we are there to help you every step of the way. If you are in receipt of Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) you can also have these payments deposited into your credit union savings account.

There are no restrictions on how much you pay in and no monthly fees. Furthermore, you have total control of your finances and can withdraw your savings at any time.

If you are over the age of 18 and have been saving with us regularly, you will be eligible to apply for a loan. However little you need, we can offer loans at competitive rates that will beat many banks and building societies and that won’t break the bank like many payday and high-interest lenders.
